Shiloh is the first resting place
the traveling Tent of Worship
during the coming time of Moses.
The Ark of the Covenant was here
until the Temple was built in Jerusalem.
The Ark of the Covenant
is
The Mercy Seat of God
Is this Literal?
No,
but
it is understandable in the places of the heart.
Genesis 28:10-22
10 Jacob left Beersheba and went toward Haran.
11 And he came to a certain place and stayed there that night,
because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep.
because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 And he dreamed,
and Behold,
there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top reached to Heaven.
And Behold,
the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!
Jacob's Ladder by Cigoli Lodovico, Jacob's Song
13 And Behold, the Lord stood above it
and said,
“I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac.
The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring.
Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth,
and
you shall spread abroad to the west
and to the east and to the north and to the south,
and
in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Behold,
I am with you and will keep you wherever you go,
and will bring you back to this land.
For I will not leave you
until I have done
what
I have
promised you.”
16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” 17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the House of God, and this is the Gate of Heaven.”
The Altar Stone above is the only Altar found on Mount Gerizim.
Mount of Blessings in Mount Ebal.
Today the altar has is a cross and is a modern stone.
Next to the ancient carbon dating artifacts.
Shechem's position is indicated in the Hebrew Bible: it lay north of Bethel and Shiloh, on the high road going from Jerusalem to the northern districts (Judges xxi, 19)
18 So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it. 19 He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.
20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying,
“If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, 21 so that I come again to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God
“If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, 21 so that I come again to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God
22 And this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God's house. And of all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you.”
1 John 1
This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning,
what we have heard,
what we have seen with our eyes,
what we have looked at and our hands have touched
concerning the word of life—
2 And the life was revealed,
and
we have seen and testify and announce to you
the eternal life that was with the Father
and was revealed to us.
3 What we have seen and heard we announce to you too,
so that you may have fellowship with us
and indeed our fellowship is with the Father
and with His Son Jesus Christ).
4 Thus we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete
John 14
14 “Let not your hearts be troubled.
Believe in God;
Believe also in Me.
2 In my Father's house are many rooms.
If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again
and will take you to myself,
that where I am you may be also.
4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
5 Thomas said to Him,
“Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.
From now on
you do know Him
and
have seen Him.”

Miracle of life, be found, please.
(I read of a woman who had survived
the North Carolina flood, and wasn't found
for a long time because her hip was broken.
She had to rest to get to her brother's home.
She was not located, she had to rescue herself.
And did recover.)
Let us continue to Pray
with all our hearts.
One of Edward's 12-year schoolmates

So Tragic.
We remember
John Wesley said, “The Work of God
